Winners of the 2024 Robert and Charmaine Price African American Heritage Bowl

It is with great pride and joy that we announce the High School and Middle School winners of the 2024 Robert and Charmaine Price African American Heritage Bowl. Despite the challenges faced, the spirit of competition and knowledge prevailed as teams showcased their intellect and passion for African American heritage.

We are thrilled to congratulate Richardson High School of Richardson, Texas, for emerging as the High School Winner of this prestigious competition. Under the guidance of Coach Ms. Mauriqua Owens, their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence shone brightly throughout the event.

Additionally, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Katherine Johnson Technical Magnet Academy of Desoto, Texas, for their remarkable success as our Middle School Winner. Dr. Jamal Rasheed’s guidance and mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping their journey to victory.

Thank you to all participants, supporters, and sponsors who made this event a resounding success. Your contributions have helped elevate awareness and appreciation for African American heritage in our community.

Robert and Charmaine Price African American Heritage Bowl

Saturday, March 23,2024, 9 a.m. at the African American Museum of Dallas

For a second year, the African American Museum, Dallas and the W. Marvin Dulaney Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) have partnered to host the Robert and Charmaine Price Know Your Heritage Bowl on Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. until approximately noon at the African American Museum, Dallas in historic Fair Park.

Free and open to the public, the friendly competition pits teams of middle and high school students against each other to showcase their knowledge of African American history.

Complete with prizes and fun, the event marks the culmination of a months-long effort to encourage African American middle and high school students to study their history.
